Back to Work!!

Back to work today!! I feel like I fell off of the planet last week, but totally enjoyed being warm and recharging my batteries in the New Mexico and Arizona sunshine ... reality, however, has set in and it is time to mix clay and get my fingers pushing and pulling the surface to make some new pieces. I have plenty of new work to begin and need to finish the WIPs below so instead of just talking about working I need to get it done.

Do any of the rest of you have difficulty getting your engine started after taking a break? I feel like I need someone to turn the key to get me going so I had better close this post and mix the clay NOW!!!

Have a great day and happy creating!
Laurie

Yup! In my case, I think I have so many ideas running around in my head that I end up daydreaming and not getting to work. Once I finally sit down to sculpt, it seems to go fairly smoothly, because I must have worked everything out in my mind first. Then, of course, i have the daily distractions of many phone calls, since my husband is on City Council. I tell people I am the greatest little unpaid secretary in the Western World! haha!

Hey Laurie! I know how you feel; It's hard for me to get into the swing of things sometimes.

You just have to dig in and go for it, as you are. Those wips look great! Very curious about the rabbit guy in the front.

Hi Laurie...Welcome back! Hope you enjoyed all that great sunshine. Is that a skelly bunny guy I see ??
Can't wait to see what you have in store for him!

I know what you mean about getting back into the swing....sometimes it's so impossible. But ever since I "restarted" myself by daily art journalling, the ideas have been flowing pretty regularly!

When you get a chance, come by to see some wip's and a gigantic worldwide blog giveaway that I'm participating in!

Glad to see you back!

A break?? What's that? LOL....

Your vacation looks absolutely heavenly, and I'm sitting here watching the snow fall outside, positively green with envy!

LOVE the new work!

Ginny,
I had a productive day and got a new piece completely sculpted...amazing for me!! HA!

Lance,
That little guy is a "Skelly Bunny" figure with an Easter egg body. Hmmmm, you will have to wait and see!!

Marie,
I stopped by and I love your new polymer clay piece plus your bird and bunny head. Something tells me the bunny head could be Halloweenish...am I right?

Sonia,
I went through the gears today and I'm feeling pretty good about the results. The clay is already to go for tomorrow too!

Thanks you all for stopping by and taking a peek!

I know, I know Carolee, you work 52 weeks a year and put me to shame with your output, but hubby needed to have his hands feel better and so for 5 days they did. It will get him through the rest of the winter and I went along just to keep him company--HA!

Oh, how I can relate. Doing the computer thing for a day or two, then back in the studio, I just stare. Can't get it going. Once I do, it's hard to shut off, don't want to quit to do anything else. There's got to be a happy medium somewhere. Somebody figure it out and let me know... :) PJ
